New! LEGO Fan Event Calendar

Well, it’s been a few days since I have had the chance to post here, but my thoughts have been on it since Monday when I last had the chance to write.

This morning I woke early to a clear ice blue sky and decided it is the perfect day to add a new feature to this website. You can find the results of my efforts on the “Fan Events” in the black bar above. :-)

Please know that this will be a work in progress and I am adding events in no particular order. My intent is to feature mainly fan run events from all over the world and I encourage you to help me with this effort. If you know of an event not yet entered to the calendar, please post a reply on the event page and I will get it entered promptly.

Wish me luck! It has been a desire of mine for a long time to have a comprehensive list of events all in one place and I appreciate any suggestions. :-)

Um… Joe has kind of set something like this up already:
http://www.brickjournal.com/view/calendar/  It’s a shared Google calendar with about 20 people authorized to add events to it.  If you want, I can invite you to be on it.

That would be great Mike! I know Joe’s calendar quite well, but it is US event centric and I wanted to have a more global focus.
Hey, If you have any magical way for me to merely plug that calendar into my event page that would be awesome! I am not technically proficient and would love to work smart, rather than hard on this. I like the look of his more than mine too…mine has some strange formatting IMO.

      Thanks!

It’s a global calendar of events; I’ve (personally) added events from Australia, Canada, German, United Kingdom when they’re announced.  Out of the 20+ people who are able to add events to the calendar 1/2 live outside the US.

I’ll send you code to add the shared calendars to your web-site.

Got the code! Thanks Mike. Hey, you should nudge Joe to change the title of his calendar. He has it clearly labelled as a calendar of US events. :-)

There is the Tillicum Kids Lego show put on by Robin Sather on March 9-11:

This will be the 3rd year running and VicLUG will be in attendance helping out with the Duplo build, the moc table, the kids contest and the kid build section. It’s turning into one of the premier Lego events in the city and we’re starting to get into high gear for it now.

Excellent Joseph, I will ad this. Thanks! I am still looking into replacing my efforts here with Joe’s calendar, but honestlky haven’t figured out how to do that yet. :-)
